Layer2 Cloud Connector

Scenario:

A local hardware sales and consulting business needed to provide their outside installers and consultants with access to their internal files without using a VPN, or exposing internal filesystems.

Solution:

Since the customer had an existing Office 365 setup for all of their email usage, they already had access to OneDrive for Business and Sharepoint services. We proposed using the Layer2 Cloud Connector to maintain two-way synchronisation of the file structures from their local file server onto their OneDrive for Business account. This allowed their field technicians to have access to the data and files needed whether on a phone or a laptop. It also allowed them to use the built in features of office365 to access their files while on the road, and keep the files synchronised with the home office. Their filesystem exceeded the synchronisation abilities of the native OneDrive for Business client. They also had multiple sources needing to be synchronised to different locations, which again was beyond the scope of the native tools from Microsoft.
With the Layer2 Cloud Connector, once the initial synchronisation (over 25K files in 27+GB of space) was finished, the product has worked very nicely, and has allowed our customer far more functionality to their technicians and consultants.
